Garth Dew is a Preston-based artist working with photography and music. His practice is about observation and presence in everyday life.
His photographic projects include Papa Romeo One, a long-term study of the streets, faces, and textures of his local postcode. Other work includes A Trip Takes Us, a travel zine, and Beautiful Strangers, an ongoing series of spontaneous portraits.
As a musician, Garth’s combines acoustic instruments, analogue synths and field recordings to create mellow instrumental music - mirroring the meditative process behind his photography.
He also works as a video director at GD Video, creating cinematic, story-driven work for both original and commercial projects. His clients include Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, Speedo, Arla, Autodesk, and AMS Neve, and his films have appeared on the BBC and Kendal Mountain Player.
